Have Your Say

The government are "consulting" on what to do about rogue landlords. I do think that there is political will from all sides to continue to add further legislation to an all ready highly regulated Private Rented Sector. It seems to me that there are plenty of sanctions available for Local Authorities to take action against rogue landlords.......not least of which would be management orders. In effect, Local Authorities have the power to confiscate properties from rogue landlords, but in practice they do not do so because they do not have the resources to manage them themselves....... what is wrong with private/public partnerships? I know a few good letting agents who would be happy to tackle the properties on and account to the local authority and landlord (as well as lender) to get them back into order?
