Important changes to Council Tax Discounts and Exemptions

Due to changes in legislation, certain tax discounts and exemptions will be cancelled with effect from the 1st April 2013.

The changes will affect empty properties, second homes and new builds.

A premium will be charges on properties classed as ‘Long term empty’ properties that have been empty for more than two years.

The information below illustrates the changes that come into effect on the 1st April 2013
