Second Phase of Additional Licensing for HMO Properties

Following Oxford City Council’s introduction of Additional Licensing for all HMO properties, the second phase which will widen the net to cover all remaining HMO let properties, not previously licensed, will come into effect on 30 January 2012.

The second phase will affect all two storey or single storey HMO’s that contain three or four occupiers and self-contained flats that are HMO’s.

Tina will be contacting our clients individually to advise them which of their properties are likely to be affected by this latest phase of licensing, should they wish to continue to let the property as an HMO. Please do not contact the Council directly as we will have a special arrangement to submit applications in phases throughout the year, for all our managed properties.

For those of you who have not been through the process of licensing – the costs are £470 for the first year of the license and £172 per year thereafter.

Tina will be in touch with all our clients whose properties are affected by this latest legislation but if you wanted to discuss the matter further, please do not hesitate to contact her.
